7. Maintain the Snowblower in a safe operational condition and maintain all shields and guards on the
equipment.
8. Ensure the Endloader is equipped with a functional seat belt and require that the operator securely fasten
the safety belt when operating the equipment.
9. Provide the required tools to maintain the Snowblower in a good safe working condition and provide the
necessary support devices to secure the equipment safely while performing repairs and service.
10. Require that the employee operator to stop blowing if bystanders or passerbys come within 200 feet.
Hazard Communication and MSDS information.
OSHA requires the employer to inform the employee of the potential hazards associated with the chemicals
and materials that the employee may contact. This includes, but is not limited to, the diesel fuel and
hydraulic oil. The Employer must provide annual training for the employee in Material Safety Data Sheets
(MSDS), the location of the MSDS sheets, how to read and understand the MSDS information and the PPE
requirements when using the chemicals.
Proper Disposal of Hazardous Waste Materials
EPA regulations require the proper disposal of any hazardous chemicals and waste materials. This includes,
but is not limited to, the diesel fuel, and hydraulic oil. Ensure that the employees and operators fully
understand and comply with their responsibilities for the handling and proper disposal of any hazardous waste
materials involved with the use of the Snowblower.
