Check rear brake fluid level
The reservoir for the rear disc brake is located above the carburator. The
level of brake fluid may not fall below the "MIN" mark when the vehicle
has been left standing upright

F THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL DROPS BELOW MINIMUM EITHER THE BRAKE SYSTEM HAS A LEAK
OR THE BRAKE PADS ARE COMPLETELY WORN

Refilling the rear brake fluid reservoir *

For this purpose, it is recommended to remove the screw and to pull the
brake fluid reservoir outwards. Now the screw cap

can be removed. Add brake fluid DOT 5.1 (Shell Advance Brake DOT
5.1) until the brake fluid level reaches the "MAX" mark, then mount the
screw cap together with the rubber boot. Restore the brake fluid reservoir
to its original position and fix it with the screw. The connecting hose bet-
ween the reservoir and the foot brake cylinder must be carefully positioned,
preventing kinks and keeping a safe distance between the hose and the
exhaust pipe. Spilled brake fluid must be rinsed off with water.

Checking rear brake pads
The brake pads can be inspected from the rear. The thickness of the linings
may not be less than 1 mm (0.04 in).

THEREBY IMPARING THE BRAKING EFFECT AND DESTROYING THE BRAKE DISC
Replacing rear brake pads *
Remove the cover

bolt
out of the brake caliper in an outward direction and remove it
together with the leaf spring
Pull the brake pads upwards and out of the brake caliper. Clean the brake
caliper thoroughly with compressed air.
Before installing the new brake pads push the brake pistons backwards with
an appropriate screwdriver.
