TROUBLE SHOOTING

NOTE: The possible causes have been listed in an order of frequency. There-
fore, items should be checked out in the same order as mentioned in the
trouble shooting guide.

Engine turns over but
l. No fuel to the engine
Check the tank level. Check for possible clogging
fails to start or starts
of fuel line, item 4.

Flooded engine
Remove wet spark plugs, tum ignition to OFF
and crank engine several times. Install clean
dry spark plugs. Start engine following usual
starting procedure. If engine continues
to
flood, see your dealer.

Spark plug/ ignition
Check for fouled or defective spark plug. Dis·
connect spark plug wire, unscrew plug and reo
move from cylinder head. Reconnect wire and
ground exposed plug on engine cowl, being
careful to hold away from
spark plug hole.
Follow engine starting procedure and check
for spark. If no sparks appear, replace spark
plug. If trouble persists, contact your dealer,

Carburetor
Contact your dealer for repair.

Too much oil in fuel

Engine timing
Engine timing may be incorrect or out of ad-
justment. Contact your dealer.

Engine compression
Running with a lean fuel mixture may produce
excessive engine wear resulting inpoor engine
compression. If this occurs, contact your
dealer at once.
Engine will not turn

Seized engine
In the case of a seized engine contact your
manually
dealer.
