Important safety instructions

When usng your telephone equpment, basc safety precautons should always be
followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury, including the following:
1.
Read and understand all nstructons.
2.
Follow all warnngs and nstructons marked on the product.
3.
Unplug ths product from the wall outlet before cleanng. Do not use lqud or aerosol
cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleanng.
4.
Do not use ths product near water such as near a bath tub, wash bowl, ktchen snk,
laundry tub or swmmng pool, or n a wet basement or shower.
5.
Do not place ths product on an unstable table, shelf, stand or other unstable surfaces.
6.
Slots and openngs n the back or bottom of the telephone base and handset are provded
for ventlaton. To protect them from overheatng, these openngs must not be blocked by
placng the product on a soft surface such as a bed, sofa or rug. Ths product should never
be placed near or over a radator or heat regster. Ths product should not be placed n any
area where proper ventlaton s not provded.
7.
Ths product should be operated only from the type of power source ndcated on the
marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply in your home or office,
consult your dealer or local power company.
8.
Do not allow anythng to rest on the power cord. Do not nstall ths product where the cord
may be walked on.
9.
Never push objects of any knd nto ths product through the slots n the telephone base or
handset because they may touch dangerous voltage ponts or create a short crcut. Never
spll lqud of any knd on the product.
10.
To reduce the rsk of electrc shock, do not dsassemble ths product, but take t to an
authorzed servce faclty. Openng or removng parts of the telephone base or handset
other than specified access doors may expose you to dangerous voltages or other risks.
Incorrect reassemblng can cause electrc shock when the product s subsequently used.
11.
Do not overload wall outlets and extenson cords.
12.
Unplug ths product from the wall outlet and refer servcng to an authorzed servce faclty
under the followng condtons:
A.
When the power supply cord or plug s damaged or frayed.
B.
If lqud has been splled onto the product.
C.
If the product has been exposed to ran or water.
D.
If the product does not operate normally by followng the operatng nstructons. Adjust
only those controls that are covered by the operaton nstructons. Improper adjustment
of other controls may result n damage and often requres extensve work by an
authorzed techncan to restore the product to normal operaton.
E.
If the product has been dropped and the telephone base and/or handset has been
damaged.
F.
If the product exhbts a dstnct change n performance.
13.
Avod usng a telephone (other than cordless) durng an electrcal storm. There s a remote
rsk of electrc shock from lghtnng.
14.
Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak n the vcnty of the leak. Under certan
crcumstances, a spark may be created when the adapter s plugged nto the power outlet,
or when the handset s replaced n ts cradle. Ths s a common event assocated wth the
closng of any electrcal crcut. The user should not plug the phone nto a power outlet, and
should not put a charged handset nto the cradle, f the phone s located n an envronment
containing concentrations of flammable or flame-supporting gases, unless there is
adequate ventilation. A spark in such an environment could create a fire or explosion. Such
envronments mght nclude: medcal use of oxygen wthout adequate ventlaton; ndustral
gases (cleanng solvents; gasolne vapors; etc.); a leak of natural gas; etc.
15.
Only put the handset of your telephone next to your ear when t s n normal talk mode.
16.
The power adapters are intended to be correctly oriented in a vertical or floor mount
poston. The prongs are not desgned to hold the plug n place f t s plugged nto a celng,
under-the-table or cabnet outlet.
