HDMI
Perform the following steps to listen to playback from an
HOMI component.
If an error message appears in the front panel display,
see page 116 for a complete list of error messages and proper
remedies.
Rotate the INPUT selector on the front panel
(or press one of the input selector buttons on
the remote control) to select the input source
assigned to the HDMIIN 1 or HDMI IN 2 jack
on the rear panel of this unit.

• Assigning HDMI components
You can assign an HOMI component to the HOMI IN 1 or
HOMI IN 2 jack on the rear panel of this unit so that the
audio and video signals input via HOMI connection can
be simultaneously played back.
Use the HOMI IN parameter in INPUT MENU to assign
HOMI components (see page 83).
• Converting analog video signals to
HDMI
This unit is equipped with the HOMI interlace/progressive
up-conversion feature where the analog video signals
input at the composite video, S-video and component
video jacks on the rear panel of this unit are digitally
processed and up-converted so that they can be output at
the HOMI OUT jack on the rear panel of this unit with all-
digital resolution quality.
Use the HOMI IIP parameter in OPTION MENU to
convert analog component video signals to HOMI
(see page 86).
Press AUDIO SELECT on the front panel or
AUDIO SEL on the remote control repeatedly
to select AUTO or HDMI as the input mode.
The following front panel displays are examples
where OVO is selected as the input source.
When the analog video signals with I080i or 720p of resolution
are up-converted to HDMI and output at the HDMI OUT jack, the
picture quality may worsen.
• Setting the HDMI support audio
You can choose to play back HOMI audio signals on this
unit or on another HOMI component connected to the
HOMI OUT jack on the rear panel of this unit.
Use the HOMI SET parameter in SOUNO MENU to set
the HOMI support audio (see page 82).
