Symptom
Colors are
not register-
ing properly;

Line art does
not print in
color.

has a poor
reproduction
or has poor
color density.

Cause
The front cover is not
properly closed.
The front cover is
opened during the
calibration.
Gradations are not
adjusted correctly.
One or more of the
imaging units is not
correctly seated.
One or more of the
toner cartridges may
be defective.
The media is moist
from humidity.
The line art setting for
2400 x 600 dpi
requires Color Match-
ing to be turned off.
One or more of the
imaging units may be
defective.
Solving Problems with Printing Quality
Solution
Make sure that the front cover is
closed.
Set
MACHINE SETTING/CALI-
in the
BRATION
UTILITY
, and then perform the AIDC color
ON
calibration. For details, refer to
"MACHINE SETTING Menu" on page
31.
Remove the imaging units and check
for damage. If it is damaged, replace it.
Remove the toner cartridges and
check for damage. If it is damaged,
replace it.
Remove the moist media and replace it
with new, dry media.
In the printer driver, go to Quality tab
and choose Off in the Color Matching.
Lower the resolution to 1200 x 600 or
600 x 600 dpi.
Remove the imaging units and check
for damage. If it is damaged, replace it.
