REMOTE

This submenu is for adding and controlling
cameras connected to the NVR either through its
POE ports or over a network/Internet connection.
Remote Tab
This tab shows all the cameras connected to your
NVR. Cameras connected through the POE ports
will automatically appear on this list. Cameras on
the same local network and the Internet will need
to be added.
Local Cameras
1 Connect the camera and NVR using the CAT5e
Ethernet cable.
2 The PoE port can power a camera up to 200
feet away.
3 The camera's video will appear after a few
seconds.
4 Cameras will be assigned to a channel based on
the order they were connected.
Local Network Cameras
1 Connect your camera to any network port
connected to the same router as your NVR
2 The camera will require its own power supply,
called a "POE Injector", or a power adapter.
3 Connect the camera ton the same network (ie;
connected to the same router) as the NVR.
4 The camera's video will be received by the NVR
through the latter's network connection.
5 Click Device Search (item a in

6 Select the desired camera and then click Add
Over the Internet
1 Connect the camera to any network port with
access to the Internet.
2 The camera will require its own power supply,
called a "POE Injector".
3 You will need to use the IP Tool or Smart
PSS Software included on the Manuals and
Software CD.
4 Follow instructions in the IP Camera Manual
(also on the CD) to get the IP address of the
camera.
5 Click Manual Add (item b in

6 Enter the camera's IP address and port, along
with the user name and password. The default
TCP Port is 3777. Leave the Manufacturer,
Decode Buffer and Remote Channel settings
unchanged.
7 Click Save
After adding any camera, be certain to click Save at the bottom of the Setting window.

Removing and Configuring Cameras.
The Added Devices section of the window shows the list of cameras connected to the NVR along with
information about each device including ID and manufacturer. A series of icons to the right of the channel
ID provides additional information.

A locally connected camera may show itself as Removable but when deleted, it will automatically
reconnect to the NVR.
Clicking the Edit icon will open the Modify
window where changes can be made to the
camera's connection settings.
NOTE!
Changing
connection settings can cause the
NVR to lose that connection until
changes are made at the camera.

Auto/TCP/UDP - QC IP cameras are set for
automatic connection. Other cameras may require
different connection protocols. Consult your
camera's manual for the proper choice.
Status Tab
This tab shows some of the same information
also found in the Remote Device tab, but also
displays information regarding motion and alarm
status for specific cameras as well.
Description
You may edit the settings on this device by double-clicking on it
This device is connected directly to the NVR and must be physically
unplugged to be removed from this list.
This device may be deleted from the list by checking the box next
to it and clicking on the Delete button below.
The connected device is operating normally.
There is an issue with the connected device that is preventing it
from operating normally.
