CAUTION:
Before you begin the following procedure, follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide.
NOTICE:
To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such
as the back panel) on the computer.
The system board BIOS chip contains the Service Tag, which is visible on a barcode label on the bottom of the computer. The replacement kit for the system
board includes a CD that provides a utility for transferring the Service Tag to the replacement system board.
NOTE:
The coin cell battery is soldered to the system board and is not a replaceable part.
 Removing the System Board

5. Remove the hinge cover (see

NOTE:
It is not required but is highly recommended that you remove the fan.

13. Remove the remaining M2.5x5-mm screw from the system board.
 
14. Pull out slightly on the back right side of the computer to release the connectors on the system board from the base.
 
15. Lift the front of the system board and slowly ease the connectors out of the computer base and remove the system board.
