Make the base station settings with your
Gigaset S44 handset.
Protecting against unauthorised
access
Secure the base station system settings
with a system PIN known only to you. You
have to enter the system PIN among other
things when registering and de-register-
ing a handset on the base station or when
resetting the factory settings.
Changing the system PIN
You can change the set, 4-digit PIN of the
base station to a 4-digit PIN only you
know.
Note:
Remember the new system PIN well! If you for-
get it the phone will require expert interven-
tion. In this case please contact the Siemens
Hotline (page 63).

Display language
You cannot set the base station display
language separately. The base station
takes over the setting of the first handset
registered with the base station.
Changing ringtones

Volume:
You can choose between five volumes
and the "Crescendo" call, see page 52.
You switch off the base station ring-
tone with. The icon Ú is displayed on
the base station.

Ringtones:
You can set a ringtone melody for
external calls, see page 52.
