Sleep Timer: Auto power shut-off
after a specified length of time
You can set the system's power to be
automatically turned off after 30
minutes, 60 minutes, or 90 minutes.
This "Sleep Timer" function lets you
go to sleep without worries while the
system is operating, since it will shut
off automatically.

The following setting can be made while
playing a CD or listening to the radio. If you
connect the MD recorder (sold separately) to
this system, you can use this "Sleep Timer"
function even while the recorder is playing an
MD or the system are performing mixed
playback.
Press the SLEEP button to display the
current Sleep Timer setting.
Pressing this button cycles through the follow-
ing settings.
=SLEEP 30 = SLEEP 60
OFF +SLEEP 90 +
How to cancel a Sleep Timer set-
ting
Press the SLEEP button until "OFF" appears in
the display panel.
Using the Sleep Timer for auto shut-off and
Wake-up Timer for auto playback start
First, set up the Wake-up Timer.
See page 28 for instructions on setting the Wake-up
Timer.
Next, press the TIMER button until its green lamp lights,
then set up the Sleep Timer.
The Wake-up Timer function goes into effect after the
system's power is shut off by the Sleep Timer. However,
if the playback start time that was set for the Wake-up
Timer arrives before the system is shut off by the Sleep
Timer, the Wake-up Timer will not operate. You can
select different audio sources for the Sleep Timer and
Wake-up Timer.
