ActiveSync ®
The software that exchanges and updates
the information on your Treo
Smartphone by Palm with the information
on your computer.
ActiveSync desktop software
The software on your Windows XP
computer that exchanges and updates the
information on your computer with the
information on your smartphone. To open
ActiveSync on your computer, double-click
the ActiveSync icon in the taskbar in the
lower-right corner of your screen. If the
icon does not appear, click Start > All
Programs (or navigate to the Programs
group) > Microsoft ActiveSync. See

auto-off interval
The time of inactivity that passes before
the screen on your smartphone turns off.
The wireless features on your smartphone
are unaffected by this setting. See

beam
The process of sending or receiving an
entry or application using the infrared (IR)
port on your smartphone or using
Bluetooth
™ Pro Beaming information.
Bluetooth
Technology that enables devices such as
smartphones, mobile phones, and
