Cause
Paper is loaded in the
Bypass Tray.
The Front Cover of the main
unit is open or not securely
closed.
The Auto Document Feeder
is lifted up.
The Document Feeder
Cover is open.
When beginning copying,
for example, 2in1 copying,
the original was not loaded
into the Auto Document
Feeder. Otherwise, the
Auto Document Feeder is
open.
The size of the data for the
scanned document has
exceeded the capacity of
the memory.
Some problem occurred in
the machine.
The Fuser Cover of the
main unit is open or not
securely closed.
A paper misfeed occurred.
The Fuser Cover of the
main unit is open or not
securely closed.
Incorrect type of toner
cartridge is installed.
Toner cartridge is not
installed.
When a Message Appears
Action
Remove the paper from the
Bypass Tray.
Securely close the Front
Cover.
Securely close the Auto
Document Feeder.
Securely close the
Document Feeder Cover.
Load a document into the
Auto Document Feeder.
Securely close the Auto
Document Feeder.
Press the [Panel Reset]
key, or turn the machine off,
then on again. (The
scanned data should be
cleared from the memory.)
Turn the machine off, then
on again. If the error is still
displayed, contact your
service representative.
Close the Fuser Cover,
then open and close the
Front Cover.
Perform the misfeed-
clearing procedure.
