Important safety information
Precautions for users of implanted cardiac pacemakers
Cardia� pa�emakers (applies onl� to di�ital �ordless telephones): Wireless
Te�hnolo�� Resear�h, LLC (WTR), an independent resear�h entit�, led a
multidis�iplinar� evaluation of the interferen�e between portable wireless
telephones and implanted �ardia� pa�emakers. Supported b� the U.S. Food and
Dru� Administration, WTR re�ommends to ph�si�ians that:
Pacemaker patients:
•
Should keep wireless telephones at least six in�hes from the pa�emaker.
•
Should NOT pla�e wireless telephones dire�tl� over the pa�emaker, su�h as in
a breast po�ket, when it is turned ON.
•
Should use the wireless telephone at the ear opposite the pa�emaker.
WTR's evaluation did not identif� an� risk to b�standers with pa�emakers from
other persons usin� wireless telephones.
ECO mode
This power �onservin� te�hnolo�� redu�es power �onsumption for optimal
batter� performan�e. The ECO mode a�tivates automati�all� whenever the
handset is s�n�hronized with the telephone base.
Especially about telephone answering systems
Two-wa� re�ordin�: This unit does not sound warnin� beeps to inform the other
part� that the �all is bein� re�orded. To ensure that �ou are in �omplian�e
with an� federal or state re�ulations re�ardin� re�ordin� a telephone �all, �ou
should start the re�ordin� pro�ess and then inform the other part� that �ou are
re�ordin� the �onversation.
