Although the data are retained in the RAM memory even when the instrument is turned off, it is advisable
to save a copy of your data to a Floppy Disk. RAM is best used as a dynamic work area and not as a data
storage device.
wk1000 can save data in a Floppy Disk in the following ways:

As a single element (Song, Style, MidiFile)

As a set of fi les from a Group (AllStyles , Performances, SMP)
3
As an ALL operation, saving all the data kept in the RAM memory
To save a fi le as a single element, you can either use the same name, or rename the fi le. No name is re-
quested to save a Performance, a Style or an ALL format fi le.
Get a formatted disk and insert it in the drive. If the disk is write-protected, remove

the protection.
Press ss the FLOPPY DISK button and move to the SAVE page using the PAGE +

button.
The fi rst page of the SONG mode is shown in the display.
Press the CURSOR buttons to select the fi le format you wish to save (SONG, SMF,

PERFORM, STY, ALLSTY, SMP , ALLDISK)

Once you have selected the desired mode (e.g: SONG), PRESS ENTER
The name of the fi rst Song contained in the RAM memory appears in the display.

Select the Song you wish to save with the TEMPO/DATA buttons

Press ENTER to confi rm the selected Song.
The following message appears in the display : [SAVE: + fi lename)], the fi le is ready
to be saved to the fl oppy disk.
At this point it is possible RENAME the song fi le using the keyboard keys or leave the
same name and OVERWRITE the existing fi le.

Press ENTER
The [OK, ready to save [ENT]?] message appears in the display. In case the Floppy
Disk already contains a fi le by the same name, the message [OVERWRT?] will be
displayed.

Press ENTER again to confi rm, the fi le is now saved
WARNING!
If the disk drive contains an unformatted Floppy Disk, pressing SAVE prompts the message : UNFORMAT.
If the disk is write-protected the message is: DISK PROTECTED
If the disk is damaged, the message is: DISK CORRUPTED
