Troubleshooting

Before requesting service for this unit, check the table below for a possible cause of the problem you are experiencing. Some simple
checks or a minor adjustment on your part may eliminate the problem and restore proper operation.
Symptom
The Power Does Not turn On.
The unit turns On automatically
without any operation.
REC Indicator is Blinking during
Standby.
The unit does not response.
No Picture, Sound or Menu appears
on the Screen.
Time jumps/Auto Clock set's incorrect
time.
The Unit Does Not Operate properly.
When you Forget the Password for
Parental Lock.
No Analog TV Closed Caption are
Output.

Remedy
• Check that the AC Power cord is connected securely.
• Remote Control batteries may be weak, Replace them with new ones.
• This Unit's Remote Control Code will be set back to the Default setting
"Code1" after "Initialize for Personal Information". Keep pressing [ TITLE
LIST ] and press the number button [ 1 ] on the Remote Control to Set the
Remote Control's Remote Control Code to "Code1". (Refer to page 71 on
'Remote Control'.)
• Leave the unit Unplugged for 5 Minutes, Plug the Unit back in. If the Unit Does Not
Power On please contact our Customer Service Center for Service on the model.
• The unit turns On automatically 6 seconds before the Timer Recording.
• The Clock Setting is not completed. (Refer to page 28 for complete the setting.)
• The REC Indicator will blink in Standby mode, from 2 minutes Before the
Programmed Starting Time.
• Check the Remote Control Code. (Refer to 'Remote Control' on page 71.)
• The REC Indicator will blink while the Unit is acquiring Auto Clock Data.
• "
" or error message appears if the operation is prohibited.
• Remote Control batteries may be weak, replace them with new ones.
• Leave the Unit unplugged for 5 Minutes, Plug the Unit back in. If the unit Does
Not Power On please contact our Customer Service Center for Service on
the model.
• Depending on the Source/Connection, confirm the following:
– For Antenna/Basic Cable, redo an Auto Scan on the model.
– For Satellite Receiver/Cable Box, check the connections to make sure they
are securely connected.
– For RF Coaxial Cable, redo an Auto Scan on the model.
– For HDMI and RCA Audio/Video, check the connections to make sure they
are securely connected.
• Check if the Connections are made Securely and Correctly.
• Check if the Cables are Damaged.
• Check if a Correct External Input Channel is selected on your TV. (Refer to page 21.)
• Check if you have Completed the Channel Setting. (Refer to pages 26–27.)
• When you set HDMI with 1080p output, picture will not be displayed with
RCA Video connection.
• Set the 'Clock Setting (Auto)' to "Off " and try 'Clock Setting (Manual)' on
page 28.
• Moisture has Condensed inside the Unit. Leave the Unit turned On for about
2 hours until the Moisture Evaporates.
• Enter 0711 in "Enter PIN" to reset the PIN Code.
• If you are using an HDMI connection to watch the TV programs through this
Unit, Analog TV Closed Caption cannot be Output. Try using Video / Audio
Output connection to the TV.
