Loading and removing a PD cartridge and CD
PD/CD Eject
Button
Shutter
Hold the CD so that your hand does not touch the data surface
and with the label side facing up. Set it into the circular tray.
CAUTION
When inserting a CD or PD cartridge, observe the mark(s) on the caddy or cartridge.
NOTE
Do not insert your fingers into the keyboard opening. In particular, be very careful not
to get fingers, etc., caught in the keyboard during loading.
Do not move the computer with a CD inserted in it.
Do not put your hands or any other objects on top of the keyboard when opening or closing
the tray. Also, do not touch the PD/CD drive or keyboard.
When the tray is open, applying too much force on the tray could damage it.
After closing the tray, do not attempt to access a disk until
is displayed and
disappears.
The PD/CD drive will not open if the battery is low. (less than 9%)
Opening the PD/CD drive while an application that accesses the PD/CD drive is running can
cause the computer to hang.
Under some conditions, dust may build up on the optical lens, PD cartridge, or CD, possibly
resulting in malfunction.
Cleaning the PD/CD drive using a CD lens cleaner (except the liquid type cleaner) is recom-
mended if it malfunctions.
Cleaning the PD cartridge or CD using a PD/CD disk cleaner (LF-K022DC) is recommended
once every 2 or 3 months.
When dust or dirt accumulates on the PD cartridge, more time is required to format the

PD cartridge.
As soot stuck on the lens may shorten the life of the drive, do not try to use the computer
under a smoky environment.
Handling the PD/CD Drive(If the PD/CD Drive Tray will not open or close)
Slide and hold the PD/CD eject button to the right for a few
seconds .
The Keyboard opens and the tray extends automatically.
Set a CD on the tray. If you are using a PD cartridge,

slide the cartridge in as shown.
Set a CD on the tray. If you are using the caddy,

slide the caddy in as shown.
Slide the PD/CD eject button again to the right or tap the
tray lightly to close it.
