4. DATA OVERWRITE KIT (OPTIONAL)

If an optional data overwrite kit is installed, the data temporary stored in the hard disk of this equipment
during copying, printing, scanning, etc. can be automatically erased after the job is completed.
Data to be erased
The temporary stored data during copying, printing, scanning or Fax, Internet Fax or Network Fax
transmission.
Erasing method
After the job is completed, the temporary stored data in the hard disk of this equipment are overwritten with
the data that cannot be extracted to erase the data.
The following screen is displayed during the data erasing.
Precautions
- When the optional printer kit and scanner upgrade kit are installed, it is necessary to change them to the
printer/scanner kit because there is no more free USB port.
- If the data overwrite kit is installed, the processing speed of copying, printing, etc. becomes slow.
- When "ERASING DATA" does not appear in the control panel, the data overwrite kit may not operate
properly. Contact your service technician.
- When the optional scrambler kit is installed, encrypted data are overwritten to erase the data.
