Status Display

The first line of the status display (the library status line) shows the state of the
CAP. The normal CAP states are
CAP Locked, No Entry
ENTER Unlocks CAP
CAP Unlocked
The remaining three lines of the status display show information about the DLT
drives, including drive type and current operational status.
The possible messages displayed for current tape drive operational status are
Comm Err
Hdw Err
Clean me
Wrt Prot
Loaded
Unloaded
Not Installed No DLT drive is installed in that slot.
A typical status display looks like the example below.
In this example, the message lines indicate
(Line 1 )
(Line 2)
(Line 3)
(Line 4 )
2–4
The cartridge access port cannot be used.
The cartridge access port can be unlocked by pressing
the ENTER key.
The cartridge access port is ready to be opened.
Communication error.
Hardware error.
The drive needs cleaning.
The cartridge loaded in the drive is write protected.
A cartridge tape is loaded in the drive.
No cartridge tape is loaded in the drive.
CAP Locked
Not Installed
DLT4000 Loaded
DLT7000 Unloaded
The cartridge access port is locked.
Drive 2 is empty (third slot from bottom in the library)
Drive 1 (second from bottom) contains an installed DLT4000 drive that
is loaded with a cartridge tape.
Drive 0 (bottom) contains an installed DLT7000 drive that is not
loaded with a cartridge tape.
