Figure 3-1 shows the following front panel features:
1. Power supply indicator.
2. Hot-swappable power supply.
3. Fan unit indicator.
4. Hot-swappable fan unit (contains two fans for high-availability) with auto-heat sensing to
allow for silent fan operation. Front-to-rear cooling.
5. Reset button.
• Press and hold this button for more than 2 seconds, but less than 6 seconds to reset the
management card function without affecting data traffic through the high-speed network.
• Press and hold this button for more than 6 seconds to reset the interconnect. This will
disrupt data traffic across the high-speed network.
6. System status LEDs include:
• SM-Subnet manager (active or standby).
• Info-User defined (for future use).
• Pwr-System power status.
7. 10/100 Ethernet connector. Provides out-of-band management interface over a local network
(front and rear RJ-45 connectors cannot be used simultaneously.
8. CLI connector. Provides serial CLI console interface.
9. I²C Connector. Provides serial I²C interface.
10. Power supply indicator.
11. Hot-swappable power supply.

3.1.1.1 ISR 9024S/D-M Management Card

The internally managed ISR 9024S/D-M have an on-board CPU running embedded GridVision
™ device and fabric managers. The internally managed ISR 9024S/D-M incorporates a management
card, an RJ–45 Ethernet out-of-band management port and a serial CLI console interface port.
The Ethernet port is available either on the front panel or on the rear panel but not on both panels
simultaneously. The serial port is available on the front panel.

3.1.2 Externally Managed ISR 9024 S/D Front Panel

In this configuration, the I²C port provides access to channel management functions for field
maintenance purposes as well as two LEDs and a reset
of the externally managed configuration.
