Inspectthe brakeshoes(2) for cracks,and thejoint for leakage. Checkthe brakefluid levelthroughthesighthole (3) underplasticcowling. Removeplasticcowling(4). If level isat or belowthe LOWERmark,inspect brakepadsfor wearand hydraulic systemfor leaks.     Maintenance(continued) Tires The scooteris equipped with tires of thesize and type listedbelow: Front Rear 3.0mm (0.12in) Size 3.50x10 3.50x10 TireTreadCondition Operatingthis scooterwith improper tires,or even improper tire air pressurecouldbe hazardous. If you use improper tires or improper tire air pressure, y ou may lose controlof thescooter.

    Maintenance(continued) Battery (gas scooter) Yourscooterusesa sealed,maintenance free leadacid batteryrated 12V3AH.The batteryis locatedunderneath the floorboard. • Chargingnewbatteries:Fill the batterywith theacid in thepre-packed bottles and allowto restfor 30 minutespriorto sealingthe battery.After sealing,charge the batteryusinga low currentcharge(0.5V-1A for 6 hours.) • Rechargingbatteries:Forbest results,chargethe batteryat a low current(see above).You canfast chargethe batteryat 2Afor up to 1 hour.Youmay usea tricklecharger(<0.5A)to keepthe batterychargedif you useyourscooter infrequently or for shorttrips.You canattacha tricklechargerfor up to oneweek.

    Transporting It is bestto transportthescooterin the normalposition. Beforetransportinq thescooterdrain thefuel from the carburetoras follows: Drainfuel from carburetor intoan emptycontainerby looseningthe carburetor drain screw(1). The carburetor drain screwis locatedat the bottomof the engine. Whenthefuel has beendrained,retightenthe drainscrew. Drainingfuel fromthe carburetor couldbe hazardous. Fuelcouldcatchfire if you do not handleit properly.

    Storage Procedure If you do not useyour scooterfor a longtime, it will needspecialservicerequiring appropriate materials,equipmentandskill. Forthis reason,we recommend that you trustthis maintenance work to yourauthorizedservicecenter. Ifyou wish to servicethe machinefor storageyourself,follow the generalguidelinesbelow: VEHICLE Placethevehicleon levelgroundandwashthe entirevehicle. FUEL Drain the fuel from the fuel tank by a hand pump. Drainthe fuel from the carburetor by releasing the carburetor drain screw.

If you are not sureabout the properaction,consult your authorizedservicecenteror BAJA INC.aboutthe problem. FuelSupplyingCheck Makesurethere is adequatefuel in the fuel tank. Checkthatthe ignitionswitch is in the "RUN" position.
