IMPORTANTSAFETYINSTRUCTIONS

1. NEVER let children operateor playwith the doorcontrols.
2. Keepremote awayfrom children.
3. ALWAYS keepthe movingdoor in sight and away from people
and objectsuntil door is completelyclosed.NOONESHOULD
CROSS THEPATH OFTHEMOVING DOOR.
4. NEVER GOUNDER A STOPPED, PARTIALLY OPENDOOR.
5. Testopener monthly. T he doorMUSTreverseon contactwith a
1-1/2" high object(or a 2" x 4" boardlaid flat) at the center of
doorwayon the floor.After adjustingeitherthe force or limit of
travel,retest door opener.Failureto adjustthe openerproperly
maycausesevere injuryor death.
6. Whenpossible,use emergencyreleaseonly whendoor is
closed.Usecaution when usingthis releasewith the door open.
Weakor brokenspringsare capableof increasing the rate of
door closureand increasingthe risk of severeinjury or death.
7. KEEP DOORS PROPERLY BALANCED. Seeyour garagedoor
Owner'sManual.An improperlybalanceddoor increasesthe
risk of severe injuryor death.Havea traineddoor system
technicianmake repairsto cables,spring assemblies, a nd
other hardware.
SAVETHESEINSTRUCTIONS
• Garage door hardware(springs,cables,brackets,pulleys,etc.)
are under extremepressureandtension.
• DONOTattemptto repair or adjustdoor springs or any hardware,
and DONOTOPERATE garagedoor automaticallyor manuallyif
door is improperlybalanceor springsare broken.
• CONTACT A TRAINED DOOR SYSTEM TECHNICIAN.

• Doorbalance
• Lubricatedoor hardware

A. ContactReverseTest
Seepage 9.
Useof any otherwall control cancause unexpectedoperationof
the door and loss of lightingfeature. Locatewall consolewithin
sight of door andfar enoughfrom door to preventcontactingit
while operatingthe console.Controlmust be at least 5 feet above
floor to preventsmall childrenfrom operatingit.
B. Safe-T-Beam ®(STB)SystemCheck
Checkthat boththe REDand GREEN LEDsare ONsteady.This
indicatesthe systemis working properly.If both LEDsare not ON
steady,checkthe appropriateitemsbelow:
• STBred LEDflashes.
- Checkfor obstruction.
- Checkalignment.
- Verifywire routingfrom STBsto STBconnectionin powerhead
- Checkfor signalinterferencefrom anotherSafe-T-Beam ® unit
(for multiple door installations).
• NoSTBred or greenLEDdisplayed.
- Checkwiring andwire connections.
If the systemappearsto be working properly,performthe checkas
follows:
1. Start the door closing.
2. Passan object throughthe beam.The doorshouldstop and
reverseto the fully open position.
C. DoorBalance(SpringTension)
Performthe checkas follows:
• Withthe door closed,pull manualemergencyreleasehandle
DOWN and let go to releasedoor carriageassemblyfrom drive
system.
• Raiseand lowerthe door manually--it shouldmovefreely and
smoothly.
• Raisedoor manuallyabout 3' to 4' feet and let go.

- Doorshouldremainstationaryor movevery slowly.
-If door movesquickly,CONTACT A TRAINED DOOR SYSTEM
TECHNICIAN to haveyour doorsprings serviced.
• Closethe door.
