When the camera
detects
subject
movement
or camera
shake, the ISO
sensitivity
and shutter
speed
are automatically
increased
to reduce
blurring.
However,
motion
detection
does not function
in the following
situations,
• When theflash
fires.
• When Multi-shot
16 (_37)
is enabled
in _
(auto) mode,
_,{ Auto
(default
setting)
• When ISO sensitivity
(_'539)
is set to Fixed
range
auto,
or ISO
sensitivity
is fixed at a particular
value in It_
(auto) mode.
• When AF area mode
(_42)
is set to Subject
tracking
in I_1 (auto)
mode,
• When Sports,
Night
portrait,
Dusk/dawn,
Night
landscape,
Museum,
Fireworks
show, Backlighting,
or Pet portrait
scene
mode
is enabled,
Off
Motion
detection
is not enabled.
The current setting can be confirmed
in the monitor when shooting
(_9).
The motion
detection
icon turns green when the camera detects camera shake and increases shutter
speed. No indicator is displayed when Off is selected.

• Motion
detection
may be unable
to completely
eliminate
the effects of subject
movement
and
camera
shake in some situations.
• Motion
detection
may not function
if the subject
exhibits
significant
movement
or is too dark.
• The images captured
using motion
detection
may be somewhat
"grainy"
in appearance.
