Preheating and Pan Placement
Preheat the r)ven if the recipe calls fi)r it.
Preheating is net essat T for good resuhs
when baking takes, (or)kies, past U and
breads.
To preheat, s et theovenat thecorrect t emperature.
Thecontrolwill beepwhentheoven/spreheated
andthe&splaywill showyourset temperature.
Thiswill takeapproximately 1 5-20minutes.
Baking resuhs will be better if baking pans
me centered
in the oven
as iiluch
as
possible. If baking _dth more than one
pan, place the pans so each has at least f
to 11/,_,,, of air space mound it. If baking
fi)ur cake layers at the same time, place
two layers on rack B and two 1wets on
rack D. Stagger the pans on the rack so
one is not directly above the other.
Cut slits in the foil just like the grid.
Aluminum Foil
Yr)u can use ahmfinum fi)il to line the
broiler pan and broiler grid. However,
you must mold the foil tightly to the grid
and rut slits in it just like the grid.
Without the slits, the fi)il will prevent titt
and meat juices flom dr>fining into the
broiler pan. The juices could become
hot enough to catch on fire. If you
do not cut the slits, you me essentially
fi)ing, not broiling.
Donot use aluminum foil on the bottom of
the oven.
Never entirely or)vet a shelf with
ahnninum
foil. This will disturb the heat
(ir(ulation
and resuh in pr)or baking.
A smaller
sheet
()f foil may be used to
catch a spillover
by placing
it rm a h)wer
shelf several in( hes beh)w the food.
