• Fabric preparation
1. Place right sides of fabric together and sew to the end
of the z{pper opening.
Reverse stitch to lock the seam.
Set the stitch selector at 3 and set the needle thread
tension at 0. Sew the zipper opening with the basting
stitch.

• To sew
2 Fold back the left seam allowance. Turn under the right
seam allowance to form a 0.2 to 0.3 cm (1/8") fold.
Place the zipper teeth (_ next to this fold and pin it in
place.

(_Wrong side (Bottom side) of fabric
To sew the left side of the zipper, set the foot on the left
side of the needle. Lower the zipper toot on the top side
at the bottom of the zipper so that the needle pierces
the fabric next to the fotd and the zipper tape (_).
Sew through al! {ayers next to the fold. Stop just before
the zipper foot reaches the slider on the zipper tape
about 5 cm (2") from the top of the zipper. Lower the
needle slightly into the fabric, raise the foot and remove
the basting stitches along the zipper opening.
4 Open the zipper to move the slider 4_ behind the zipper
toot. Lower the foot and stitch the remainder of the
seam, making sure the fold is even.

5 Close the zipper and spread the fabric flat with the right
side (top side) of fabric (_ facing up.

6 Set the zipper foot on the right side of the needle.
Guide the edge of the foot along the zipper teeth (_ and
stitch through the garment and zipper,
Stop at about 5 cm (21')from the top of the zipper.
Lower the needle slightly intothe fabric, raise the foot.
7 Open the zipper to move the slider (_ behind the zipper
foot,
Lower the foot and stitch the remainder of the seam,
making sure the fold is even.
