Carefully insert the small flat-blade screwdriver between the touchpad cable and the
black plastic hinge where the cable connects to the system board. Gently lift the hinge
off the cable. The cable is now free.

Lift the palm rest assembly completely from the notebook.

Place the new palm rest assembly onto the notebook, then snap the assembly into
place.

Replace all of the top palm rest screws.

Make sure that the black plastic hinge on the system board touchpad connector is in
the raised position.

Insert the end of the touchpad cable between the black plastic hinge and the white
connector.

Press the black plastic hinge onto the touchpad cable.

Reassemble the notebook.
The two shorter screws fit in the silver EMI shield on the top of the
palm rest assembly.
The cable is oriented correctly if it is not twisted and the blue side is
visible.
