Cause
The AA-size batteries
are flat.
The AA-size batteries
are low on charge.
The data played back
was not recorded
correctly.
The recording media is
not formatted
(initialized).
The card played back
contains an error.
There is a write-protect
sticker on the
CARD
SmartMedia.
An attempt was made
to erase a protected
frame.
DPOF print
specifications are set
for the image to be
erased.
DPOF file contains an
error, or the DPOF file
was specified on
another device.
More than 1000
frames were specified
in the DPOF frame
settings.
The built-in flash was
popped up even
though the battery
adapter is used.
• The recording media
is not formatted
(initialized).
• You are trying to
record onto a faulty
media.
Solution
Replace the AA-size
batteries.
Have replacement AA-
size batteries ready.
The image cannot be
played back.
Format the recording
media.
The data on the card
cannot be played back.
Use a SmartMedia that
does not have a write-
protect sticker.
Remove the protection.
When the image is
deleted, the DPOF
settings are cancelled
at the same time.
To create a new DPOF
file and redo all the
DPOF settings, press
the "MENU/EXE"
button.
The maximum number
of frames that can be
specified for printing
on the same media is
999.
The built-in flash
cannot be used when
the battery adapter is
used.
• Format the recording
media.
• Data cannot be
recorded onto faulty
media.
