When you use the printer in a TCP/IP system, you can receive e-mail messages from
the printer about errors and so on. Messages are sent through your office network or
the Internet.
You can also send e-mail to the printer to confirm or change printer settings.
This chapter describes the necessary requirements and procedures to set up the
printer to use e-mail and also explains how to send e-mail to it.

System Requirements
The printer must be installed on a TCP/IP system to enable e-mail exchange.
To receive e-mail from the printer, you must first register the printer user names and
passwords with an e-mail server (POP3 server).
The following descriptions assume that e-mail settings are done.
Consult your system administrator about the e-mail system.
