RDS Operation
Priority PTY (Programme
Type)
This function allows presetting of a programme type
such as music category, news, etc. You can listen to
a programme in the preset programme type as the
unit automatically gives priority to the preset
programme type when it begins broadcasting, and
interrupts the programme you are currently listening.
This feature is functional when your unit is set to a
mode other than the LW and MW modes.
Press the FUNC button in the radio mode.
Press the NEXT (0/) button.
The contents of the Function Guide screen
changes.
Press the F5 (P.PTY) button to activate the
PRIORITY PTY mode.
The programme type is displayed for 5
seconds. The initial setting is "NEWS."
Note: If no button is pressed within 5 seconds
after pressing the F5 (P.PTY) button, the
PRIORITY PTY mode is automatically
cancelled.
Turn the rotary switch while "NEWS" is
displayed to select the desired programme
type.
Press the rotary switch within 5 seconds after
selecting the desired programme type.
The Priority PTY mode will begin.
To change the programme category, perform the
steps 4 and 5.
To disable the PRIORITY PTY function, press
the F5 (P.PTY) button.
Notes: In the PRIORITY PTY function, unlike in
the T.INFO function, the volume does
not increase during operation.
To activate the Priority PTY mode in
other source modes than the radio mode,
press and hold the SET UP button for at
least 2 seconds. The RDS setting screen
appears in the display so that you can set
the desired Priority PTY mode.
