PREPARING TO TRANSMIT A DOCUMENT
Resolution and contrast
If you want, you can adjust the resolution and contrast before sending a document-
RESOLUTION
The UX-222 has 3 resolution settings:
STANDARD:
Use STANDARD for ordinarj' documents. This
fastest and most economical transmission.
FINE:
Use FINE for impro~ed reproduction. especially]

HALF TONE:
Use HALF TONE for photographs
and illustrations. The original will be
reproduced in 16 shades of gray.
Ifyou do not make a setting, the machine will automatically send the document in STANDARD (the
default setting can be changed to FINE by adjusting User Switch 1- see "User switches" in Chapter
7).

CONTRAST
The contrast is normally set to AUTO, which means that the machine automatically controls the
contrast, but for very light documents you can change the setting to DARK.
