Be sure the controls are turned to OFF and the surface units are cool before attempting
to remove them.

tab should lock onto the cooktop
rim through the notch in the drip
pan.
Tocleanthesurfaceunits,turn the controlto
the highestsettingfor a minute.Thecoilswill
burn off anysoil.

To remove the drip pansfor cleaning,
the surfaceunits mustbe removedfirst.

i71 Replace the drip pan intothe recess
in thecooktop.Makesurethe opening
in the pan linesup with the receptacle.

Insertthe terminalsof the surfaceunit
throughthe openingin the drip pan and
intothe receptacle.

the drippan and pull it out.
Donot lift thesurfaceunit morethan! inch.
lfyou do,it maynot lie fiat on the drippan

morethan 1 inchabovethe drip pan can
permanently damagethe receptacle.

Pushthe surfaceunitin and downto lock
the tab in placesoit restsevenlyin the
cooktop.
Donot immersethe surfaceunitsin liquidsof
any kind.
Donot cleanthe surfaceunitsin a dishwasher.
Donot bendthe surfaceunit plugterminals.
Donot attempt to clean,adjustor in any way
repairthe plug-inreceptacle.
Drip Pans
Remove the surfaceunits.Thenlift outthe drip
pans.
Forbestresults, c leanthe drip pansby hand.
Placethem in a coveredcontainer(ora plastic
bag)with ¼cup ammoniato loosenthe soil.
Rinse with cleanwater and polishwith a clean
softcloth.
Thedrip pansmayalsobe cleanedin a
dishwasher.
Cleanthe area underthe drip pansoften.
Built-upsoil,especially grease, m ay catchfire.
Donot coverthe drip panswith foil. Using foil
socloseto the receptacle couldcauseshock,
fire or damageto the range.
NOTE: I fyour cooktopis equipped with shiny,
silver-colored drip pans,do not cleanthem
in the self-cleaning oven.Permanent d amage
to the finish canoccur.
If your cooktopisequippedwith blackor gray
porcelain-coated drip pans,they canbe
cleanedin the ovenduringthe self-cleaning
cycle.Beforeyou begina self-cleaning cycle,
removeanyheaw soilfrom thedrip pansand
placethem
on theporcelain-coated ovenracks.Do not
placethe drip pansdirectlyon the ovenbottom.
Afterthe self-cleaning cycleiscompletedand
the drip pansare cool,wipethem with a damp
cloth to removeanyremainingashor residue.
Be sure all surface units are turned
off before raising the cooktop.

Lift-Up
Cooktop
Theentirecooktopmay be liftedup and
supportedin the up positionfor easiercleaning.
Thesurfaceunitsdo notneedto be removed;
however, you may removeone to makeraising
the cooktopeasier. T hereare two sidesupports
that lock into position whenthe cooktopis
lifted up.
After cleaningunderthe cooktopwith hot,
mildsoapywater and a cleancloth,lowerthe
cooktop.Becarefulnot to pinchyourfingers.
Tolowerthe cooktop, p ushthe rodsbackand
gently lowerthe cooktopuntil it restsin place.
