From the ribbon supply spindle, pass the carbon ribbon underneath the thermal head to the ribbon take-up
spindle. Wind the ribbon around the take-up reel several times in the direction of the arrow. Confirm that
the ribbon has been loaded as shown in the figure below when viewed from the side.

Lock the head-lock lever, and then close the cover.

CAUTION
• The thermal head and the surrounding area will
become hot immediately after a printing operation.
Take care not to burn yourself if you need to replace
the carbon ribbon immediately after a printing opera-
tion.
• Touching the edge of the thermal head with your
bare hands may result in injury.
