You will see the menu for automatically

nels. If you are using
an RCA satellite
receiver,
turn the
ADJUST
dial to seh.'ct "Sat. receiver,"
then _se the shuttle
ring tx) change
"OFF" to "1." If you are not: using
a satellite
receiver,
make sure "Sat. receiver"
is set to "OFF."
Using the list below as a reference,
turn the ADJUST
dial to
select the kind of antenna
you connected.
• If you are using a cable box that sends signals
to your VCR
on only one channel
and can be operated
by a remote
control, choose "(',able box only," and skit:, to step O, below.
• If you are using any othe:_ cable combinal;ion,
including
a
cable box with an A!B switch, choose "Cable."
• If you are using an antenna
that receives
only over-the-air
broadcasts,
such as "rabbit ears" or a rooF-mounted
an-
tenna, choose "Indoor/outdoor."
After you have selected,
turn the shuttle
:ring right.
If you choose "Cable" or "Inctoor/outdoor,"
an on-screen
mes-
sage and the display
on the front of your VCR will show you
that the VCR is memorizing:
the stations
you can receive.
You
can cancel the memorization
at any time by pressing
CAN-
CEL on the remote
control. After the VCR has programmed
all the channels,
the screen
will return
the VCR's picture.
Automatic
programming
may include
vacant
ct:.annels
if there are
stray signals
or noise on those c:hannels.
If this occurs, you can
manually
delete the channels
using the procedure
in the section
"Adding
and deleting
channels."
If you choose"Cablebox only,"
You need to tell the VCR which manufacturer
makes your cable
box, and on which channel
the cable box sends a signal. You will
see the screen to the left.

The cursor
will be next to "Brand
code." Turn the ADJUST
dial or press the number
buttons
to select; the manufacturer's
code number
for your cable box. The codes are listed
below:
