2 Use SUB TITLE or A/v
to select the subtitle.
Each time you press SUB TITLE or A/_', the subtitle
language
changes.
See the following
examples
for subtitle
selection.
For DVD AUDIO/DVD
VIDEO
Pressing SUB TITLE or A/_' cycles among the
subtitles
recorded
on the disc.
Example:

3/3 SPANISH

For SVCD
An SVCD disc can have up to four subtitles.
Pressing &/_' cycles among those channels as
follows
regardless
of whether
the subtitles
are
recorded
or not.

is shown.
The Subtitle

By audio selection, you can choose the audio language of
movies or enjoy KARAOKE with or without the vocal.
• At the beginning of the part where multiple audio sounds
are recorded, O_)_) a ppears on the TV screen (except when
the "ON SCREENGUIDE" preference is set to "OFF"). See
page 67 for details about "ON SCREENGUIDE" preference.

Press AUDlO-fs/Rate.
The Audio selection
window
appears on the TV
screen.
Note that holding down AUDIO-fs/Rate
for a few
seconds shows the sampling
frequency
and bit rate
(see page 45).
NOTES
• For DVD VIDEO,the selectedlanguagemay be abbreviated
on the TV screen.See "Tableof languagesand their
abbreviations"on page62.
• The Subtitle selection window will automatically
disappear if you do not change the subtitle for several
seconds.
• When C) appears on the TV screen (for DVD AUDIO/
DVD VIDEO disc):
You cannot select the subtitle or no subtitle is recorded.
• You can also select the subtitle via the menu bar. See
pages 49 and 51.
