• Do not clean over floor electricaloutlets.
• Do not use without tanks in place.
• Use extra carewhen cleaningon stairs. Do not place carpet cleaneron stairs.
• Use carpet cleaner only for its intended use as describedin the instructions.
• Use only attachmentsrecommended by Hoover;others may cause hazards.
• The use of an e_ension cord is not recommended. If an extension cord is absolutelynecessary,
use at least a 16 gauge 3-wire cord whichhas a 3-prong groundingtype plug and a 3-pole
receptacle that acceptsthe machineplug.
, Unplug carpet cleaner from outlet when not in use. Turn off all controls before unplugging.
• Unplug before connecting the powered hand tool.
• Nways disconnect cord from electricaloutlet before set, ring the carpet cleaner.
• Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
• Neverhandle plug or appliancewith wet hands.

cleaner to be used as a toy or to run unattended at any time.

appliance.

• Avoid pickingup hard, sharp objects with the carpet cleaner. Theymay damage the machine.
• Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, feet and all parts of body awayfrom openings and moving
parts.
