3. Wrong Way Feed
Wrong way feed is feeding the workpiece
into the end of the saw with the anti-kickback
pawls. The work_iece can be grabbed by the
blade and pull your hands into the blade
before you can let go or pull back. Fingers,
hand or arm can be cut off.

If a workpiece is fed into the end of the saw
with the anti-kickback pawls, it can take off
like a missile. Anyone hit by the workpiece
can be killed. Feed the workpiece into the in-
feed end of the saw blade, the end that does
not have the anti-kickback pawls.

4. Thrown Workpiece Chips and Blade
Pieces
The saw can throw the workpiece, workpiece
chips or pieces of the blade violently. You
can be blinded. Wear safety goggles labeled
"ANSI Z87.1" on the package.

DANGER: Follow the 8 steps listed
below to reduce or eliminate the risk of
being injured when using the radial arm
saw. Failure to do so can result in a life
threatening injury or death.

2. Set blade guard in horizontal position
when crosscutting.
3. Lower blade guard nose only when rip-
ping.
4. Keep hands as far away from the blade
as possible when cutting.
5. Return the saw to its rearmost position
after each crosscut.
6. Wait until the blade has stopped turn-
ing before reaching for the work?iece or
a_}thmg else on the table.
7. Read and follow the safety information
and safety instructions in the operator's
manual and in the safety labels on the
radial arm saw.
