IMPORTANT: T heV-beltfoundonyourtractor i sspecially designed
toengage anddisengage safely. A substitute (non-OEM) V -beltcan
bedangerous bynotdisengaging c ompletely. Fora proper working
machine, useidentical equipment b eltsas listedin thepartspagesof
thisOperator's Manual.
Tochangeor replace thedeckbelton yourtractor, p roceed asfollows:
1. Remove thedeckas instructed earlier in thissection.
2.
Remove the beltcoversfromthe spindle pulleysbyremoving the
hexscrews that fastenthecovers t o thedeck.SeeFig.23.
3.
It mayalsobe necessary t o loosen thehexnutontheleft deck
idlerpulleytogetthe beltoff thepulleyandaround thebeltguard.
4.
Carefully remove thedeckbeltfromaround thetwospindle
pulleys andthetwodeckidler pulleys. S eeFig.23.
5.
Toplacethenewbelt,beginby routing t hebeltaround thetwo
outerspindlepulleys a sshownin Fig.23.
6. Thenroutethebeltaround thetwodeckidlerpulteys a sshown in
Fig.23.
7.
Retighten thebeltkeeperrodloosened earlier.
8.
Remount thebeltguardsremoved earlier.
9.
Re-install thedeck,making surethebeltremains routed around
the pulleys as instructed. Thecomplete beltrouting is shown in
Fig.23.
10. Pulltherightsideofthebelt,and placethenarrowV sideof the
beltintothe PTOpulley.
1t. Whileholding thebeltandpulleytogether, rotatethepulleytothe
left.Continue holding androtating thepulleyandbeltuntilthebelt
isfully rolled into thePTOpulley.
PARKING

ADJUSTMENT
Neverattempt t oadjust t hebrakes whiletheengine isrunning. Always
disengage PTO(Blade Engage Lever), m ove shiftleverintoneutral
position, s topengine andremove k eytoprevent unintended s tarting.
If thetractordoesnotcome to a complete stopwhentheclutch-brake
pedaliscompletely d epressed, or ifthetractor's rearwheels canroll
withtheparkingbrakeapplied, t hebrakeisin needofadjustment.
