Description
Invalid Port Mode
The specified port is not
configured as an initiator port
or this path already exists.
Port number invalid
The specified port number is
invalid. The cable is not
connected to the specified
port.
Fibre remote copy is

Corrective action
Make sure the correct primary system port is configured as
an initiator port and the correct secondary system port is
configured as an RCU target port.
Make sure that you entered the correct secondary system
S/N, SSID, and path parameters (port, link address, logical
address).
Delete the failed path. You may need to change the
minimum paths setting or delete the secondary system in
order to delete the path. Then add the path/secondary
system using Edit Path or Add RCU.
Delete the failed path. Check the port number or the cable
connection and retry.
Install the microcode that supports the fibre remote copy
function on the remote system.
Delete the failed path and retry.
Make sure that you entered the correct secondary system
port number. Correct the port number if necessary.
Make sure that the primary and secondary systems are
physically connected.
Make sure that the Fibre Channel topology settings of the
primary and secondary systems ports are correct.
Make sure that the secondary system port is configured as an
RCU target port. See
"Define port attributes" (page
Make sure that the secondary system port and data path
hardware (cables and switches) are properly configured and
functioning.
Repair the port on the primary system.
Repair the port on the secondary system. Delete the path with
Edit Path or Delete RCU, then add the path again with Edit
Path or Add RCU.
Repair the path relay equipment. Delete the path with Edit Path
or Delete RCU, then add the path again with Edit Path or Add
RCU.
Replace the broken cable. Delete the path with Edit Path or
Delete RCU, then add the path again with Edit Path or Add
RCU.
Delete the path with Edit Path or Delete RCU, then add the
