Appendix D Troubleshooting
The blade PC is in a ready state but is not
powered on.
The blade PC has failed.
If the power LED on the blade PC is green, go to
the Blade PC Green? on page
Possible Reasons
The blade PC is off.
The enclosure power supplies have
failed or the blade PC's system board
power circuitry has failed.
If the power LED is green, the computer
may have stopped at F1.
If the power LED is off or yellow, the
blade PC experienced a Tcaution
graceful shutdown due to a thermal trip
point being crossed.
NOTE:
Tcaution is one thermal
safeguard point away from Tdeadly.
Processor throttling (bc2500 only)
Heatsink is loose.
Automated System Recovery
Push the power button on the blade PC.
If the blade PC does not power on, check
the Integrated Administrator for bay
status and messages.
Replace the blade PC. Contact HP or
your authorized service provider for
replacement parts and service.

Possible Solutions
Press the power button on the blade PC.
Check to see if the enclosure power
supplies have failed. If the enclosure
reports that the health is good, try the
blade PC in another bay. If the failure
follows the blade PC, replace the blade
PC.
Check the POST error message or check
the remote console log in the IA to see
what POST messages were in the log
last.
Ensure that the enclosure fans are
functioning properly (see
the Fan Health LED Green?
on page
69) and that the enclosure has
adequate ventilation. If so, check the
processor heat sink. Replace the system
board if the condition still exists after
corrective actions have been taken.
Ensure the enclosure health LED is
green and health status is ok. If LED
not green, troubleshoot the
enclosure.
If the enclosure health LED is
green, check heatsink installation
and operating ambient. Make sure
every enclosure slot is filled with a
blank or a blade PC.
Remove the blade PC and check if
heatsink is loose or not present.
Tighten CPU heatsink screws to 6
inch-lbs of tension.
Replace the blade PC if the
messages persist.
Check event logs in the operating
system to ensure you do not have a
software lockup.
Disable Automated System
Recovery in F10 Setup.
