Setting Up Full 6-Channel Surround Sound

After installing the SoundMAX* 4 XL audio driver from the Intel Express Installer CD-ROM, the
multi-channel audio feature can be enabled. Figure 15 shows the location of back panel audio
connectors.
Multi-Channel Analog Audio
Connect two speakers to the front left/right out (C) and two speakers to the rear left/right out (A)
for both 4- and 6-channel audio configurations. For 6-channel audio, connect two additional
speakers to the center LFE out (E).
Multi-Channel Digital Audio
Two types of S/PDIF connectors are available: coaxial (G) and optical (F). Select the proper
connector according to the style of S/PDIF speakers that will be used.
