Q: How do I install the on-board NIC drivers for WinNT 4.0?
A: The Ethernet driver can not be installed directly from the Tyan Driver CD.
Before installing the Intel 82558 Ethernet drivers, the complete 82558 directory
and ALL its components must first be copied from the Tyan CD onto your hard
drive. The 82558 installation program can then be copied normally from your
hard drive.
Q: How do I use / enable the RAIDport on the motherboard?
A: All S1836Ds will support the RAIDport as long as the RAIDport card has
BIOS version 3.1 or above. You must also us the ARO-1130CA driver set
version 3.1. The ARO-1130A is now supported also. It is recommended that
you purchase your RAIDport card from one of Tyan's distributors. Tyan
motherboards have been qualified to use ARO-1130CA or ARO-1130SA for
best results.
Q: I get a memory test failure or sequencer error when I install the RAIDport
card into the S1836 even though the memory is good.
A: The RAIDport BIOS will report a memory or sequencer failure on the S1836
if you are using RAIDport BIOS version 3.0. You MUST use RAIDport BIOS
version 3.1 for it to work on the S1836.
Q: What RAID levels are supported on the S1836 and RAIDport II card?
A: Currently, RAID levels 0 and 1 are supported on the ARO-1130CA and
RAID 0,1,0/1, and 5 are supported when using the ARO-1130SA.
Q: How can I disable the keyboard detection in the BIOS v.1.12?
A: You need to enable the Quick Boot option in CMOS - then the BIOS will not
check for a keyboard.
Q: I cannot install Windows NT when I use an LS/120-type floppy disk drive.
What should I do?
A: SYMPTOM - When you are trying to install Windows NT, you may
experience any of the following symptoms:
1) When you boot from the installation disks, the following error message
may be displayed when disk 2 is inserted:
