The TC should always be switched on during
"normal" driving. This is particularly the case
when the road is wet.
However, it can be of advantage to switch off TC
temporarily in exceptional situations:
– On a loose surface or in deep snow,
– When "rocking the vehicle free",
– When using snow chains.
Switching on Traction Control again
f Press the "TC OFF" logo of the A button.
TC is switched on after a short delay.
Note on operation
TC cannot be switched on again during a
controlled braking process.
Information light
– The TC information light in the instrument
panel lights up for a lamp check when the igni-
tion is switched on.
– The light indicates a control operation.
Warning light
– The warning light in the instrument panel lights
up for a lamp check when the ignition is
switched on.
– The light indicates that TC is deactivated.
– The lights in the instrument panel and in the on-
board computer indicate a defect.
The TC is out of order.
The fault should be remedied immediately at
an authorized Porsche dealer.
Towing
f Please observe the chapter "TOWING, RECOV-
ERY" on Page 172.
Checks on test stands
Handbrake tests on the brake test stand must
only be carried out with the ignition switched off.
