Disconnecting the battery from the
vehicle electrical system
The battery may only be removed and installed by
an authorized Porsche dealer because it is
especially difficult to access.
However, should it be necessary to interrupt the
power supply, the battery can be disconnected
from the vehicle electrical system by removing the
ground isolating plug.
The ground isolating plug should be removed:
– if the vehicle stands for several weeks,
– if there is damage to electrical equipment.
Note
When the power supply is interrupted, the alarm
system ceases to function!
If the engine compartment lid is closed when the
power supply is interrupted, it can only be
unlocked by connecting a donor battery.

Practical Tips, Emergency Service
1. Open engine compartment lid.
Please observe the chapter "ENGINE
COMPARTMENT LID" on Page 102.
2. Unclip the cover A from the ground isolating
point.
3. Remove the ground isolating plug B.
The electrical connection is now interrupted.
Connecting the battery
1. Connect the ground isolating plug.
2. Push cover onto the ground isolating point.
3. Enter the theft code for the Porsche Online
Pro.
Tip on driving
Disconnecting the battery can have temporary
effects on the driving and idling characteristics
after the car is started again.
