Problem
My SMC won't turn on�
My SMC isn't
communicating with the
network�
Solution
•
Make sure that the power cord is securely
connected to the correct AC power source and
that the power source is providing the correct
voltage�
•
Make sure the
Power switch on the rear of the
SMC is in the "I" or ON position�
•
Press the
Power button behind the Russound
logo on the front of the unit until the power
button starts to glow blue� The operating
system should then start and display the
Windows Vista desktop�
•
If these actions are unsuccessful, contact your
Life|ware dealer or Life|support�
•
Make sure the LAN cable plug is inserted all
the way into the RJ45 network jack on the SMC
unit�
•
Make sure the RJ45 LAN cable plug has been
terminated correctly�
•
Make sure the RJ45 plug on the other end of
the LAN cable has been terminated correctly�
•
Make sure the other end of the LAN cable
has been plugged all the way into the network
switch�
•
Make sure the network card is installed and
working correctly�
•
Make sure the network switch (router) is
installed and working correctly�
•
Ensure that the modem is connected and
working correctly�
