4.2. Map a Drive with Ethernet Agent (Windows)

For faster time connections and usability, LaCie rec-
ommends that you map shares on your 2big Network as
drives on your computer. To map a drive:
1. Start LaCie Ethernet Agent
2. Click on the Ethernet Agent icon in the task bar and
select
LaCie-2big > Map a drive
The Map a drive window opens (Fig. 4.2-B).
3. Select a share to map from the menu.
4. Click OK.
5. The share appears under Network Drive in My com-
puter (Fig. 4.2-C).
Technical noTe:
– To access your shares under Windows Me, the ad-
ministrator will need to create a user with the same
username and password as your log in for Windows.
This is due to a limitation in Microsoft's operating
system.
Technical noTe:
Users – To access your shares under Windows 95
and 98, you will need to create a user on the LaCie
2big Network with the same user name and pass-
word as your log in for Windows. This is due to a
limitation in Microsoft's operating system.
