This chapter shows you how to enable and configure the Prestige firewall.

11.1 Remote Management and the Firewall

When remote management is configured to allow management (see the Remote Management chapter)
and the firewall is enabled:
♦ The firewall blocks remote management from the WAN unless you configure a firewall rule to
allow it.
♦ The firewall allows remote management from the LAN.

11.2 Enabling the Firewall

Click Firewall and then Config to display the following screen. Select the Firewall Enabled check
box and click Apply to enable (or activate) the firewall.

11.3 Attack Alert

Attack alerts are real-time reports of DoS attacks. In the Alert screen, shown later, you may choose to
generate an alert whenever an attack is detected. For DoS attacks, the Prestige uses thresholds to
determine when to drop sessions that do not become fully established. These thresholds apply globally
to all sessions.
You can use the default threshold values, or you can change them to values more suitable to your
security requirements.
