Receiving SMS messages

When new SMS messages are received, the message "New SMS! ... Read
now?" will appear on the display.

Select "Yes" and confirm with the OK button if you want to look
at the message immediately.

Select "No" and confirm with the OK button if you want to look at
the message at a later stage (see below).
Incoming SMS messages are stored either on the SIM card, or in the
internal memory of the mobile phone (depending on the device). They
thus remain stored after the system has been switched off and can e.g. be
read later from the mobile phone.

Reading SMS messages

SMS messages are automatically loaded into the navigation system if the
mobile phone is being connected to the system for the first time or if the
system is restarted. The number of SMS messages is limited to 50. Please
also note that it can take some time for all SMS texts to be read.

Select the envelope symbol in the Telephone menu and confirm
with the OK button.

Select "Read SMS" and confirm with the OK button. The "Stored
SMS" menu appears.
It is possible to use the ‚ buttons on the remote control to scroll

line-by-line to the bottom or top of the message.
Below the display window for the text, the sender's phone number is
displayed (only if caller identification is supported).
The purpose of the function buttons below is as follows:
"Edit": the displayed text can be edited, e.g. to attach a reply
"SMS list": in the case of several incoming SMS messages, you can skip
entries in the list of incoming SMS messages
"Options": to send or delete the SMS message displayed as well as store
or directly dial the sender's phone number ("SMS number")
