FITTING THE CHILD CAR SEAT INSIDE THE VEHI-
CLE USING SAFETY BELTS
WARNING! These instructions and diagrams are for
the installation of the child car seat on the right
back seat. To fit the child car seat in other positions,
carry out these operations in the same order.
1. Position the child car seat on the chosen vehi-
cle seat, with the child car seat backrest firmly up
against the vehicle backrest (Diag. 6), (Diag. 7)
WARNING! Check that the vehicle headrest does
not interfere with the child seat headrest: it must
not push it forwards (Diag. 8). If this happens, re-
move the vehicle headrest. Remember to replace
the vehicle headrest when the child car seat is re-
moved.
2. Place your child inside the car seat with his back
correctly placed against the backrest (Diag. 9)
3. Check the height of the headrest and, if it is not
correct, adjust it accordingly: see the relative para-
graph.
4. Check the width of the backrest and, if it is not
correct, adjust it accordingly: see the relative para-
graph.
5. Connect the car safety belt by threading the hori-
zontal strap under the two armrests in line with the
points marked in red, and by threading the diagonal
strap under the armrest on the side of the fastener
buckle (Diag. 10).
6. Now thread the diagonal strap through the red
slot (Diag. 11).
7. Pull the diagonal car safety belt strap towards the
retractor, to ensure the belt is taut and fitting pro-
perly over the child's legs and chest, without being
too tight. (Diag. 12).
8. The child car seat should now be correctly fitted
in place (Diag. 13).
WARNING!
Check that the car safety belt is tight enough.
Check that the car safety belt is not twisted (Diag.
14).
Check that the diagonal safety belt fits correctly
across the child's shoulder (Diag. 15) and does not
press on the neck; if necessary lower the headrest
accordingly.
Check that the car safety belt retractor is behind
the backrest of the car seat (or at least aligned to
it) (Diag. 5).
Do not fit the car safety belt in any way other than
that indicated in these instructions (Diag. 16).
Make sure the child cannot slide backwards and for-
wards in the seat.
Check that any unused Ultrafix clasps are hidden
away in the compartment at the back of the child
car seat.
FITTING THE CHILD CAR SEAT INSIDE THE VEHI-
CLE USING SAFETY BELTS AND ULTRAFIX CLA-
SPS
WARNING! These instructions and diagrams are for
the installation of the child car seat on the right
back seat. To fit the child car seat in other positions,
carry out these operations in the same order.
IMPORTANT! The child car seat MUST ALWAYS be
installed using the car safety belts. The Ultrafix cla-
sps are an additional device to the use of car safety
belts and aim to provide greater stability for the
child car seat.
1. Place the child car seat onto the vehicle seat with
the backrest up against the vehicle seat backrest
(Diag. 6).
WARNING! Check that the vehicle headrest does
not interfere with the child seat headrest: it must
not push it forwards (Diag. 7). If this happens, remo-
ve the vehicle headrest. Remember to replace the
vehicle headrest when the child car seat is removed
and a passenger uses the seat.
2 Press the Ultrafix clasp adjuster button on the ar-
mrest and, at the same time, pull the clasps out of
the rear compartment (Diag. 17).
3 Insert the two Ultrafix clasps into the corre-
sponding ISOFIX anchorage points on the car seat,
between the backrest and the seat (Diag. 18).
4 Pull the Ultrafix clasp strap by the ring and, using a
certain amount of force, place your hand on the ar-
mrest and push the child car seat firmly against the
vehicle seat back rest (Diag. 19). The tail of the strap
can be fastened under the elastic on the armrest.
5 Sit the child inside with his back against the child
car seat backrest as seen in Diag. 9; now follow the
instructions 3-4-5-6-7 provided in the previous
chapter to install the car safety belts, paying atten-
tion to every single detail. The child car seat should
now be correctly fitted in place.
INSTALLING THE CHILD SEAT INSIDE THE VEHI-
CLE WITHOUT THE CHILD INSIDE
When the child car seat is not in use inside the
vehicle, it should be left secured to the car seat, or
stowed away in the car boot. An unsecured child car
seat may be a source of danger for the other passen-
gers in the event of an accident or sudden braking.
If the vehicle is fitted with Isofix anchor points the
child car seat can be fitted using the Ultrafix clasps
only, following the instructions 1-3-4 in the chap-
ter entitled "FITTING THE CHILD CAR SEAT INSIDE
THE VEHICLE USING SAFETY BELTS AND ULTRAFIX
CLASPS".
To install the child car seat using the car seat belts
only, follow the instructions 1-5-6-7 in the chapter
21
