INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

WARNING
Before moving off, always carry out a
preliminary checking of the vehicle to
make sure that it operates correctly and
safely, see the table PRELIMINARY
CHECKING OPERATIONS.
F a i l u r e t o c o m p l y w i t h f o l l o w i n g
checking operations can cause severe
personal injuries or damages to the
vehicle.
If you have any doubts on the operation
of the vehicle controls or believe that
any vehicle components might be
faulty, do not hesitate to contact an
aprilia Authorised Dealer.
It does not take long to carry out a
check-up and this operation ensures
you much more safety.

PRE-RIDE CHECKS CHART

Part
Disc brakes Check the operation, the fluid level and make sure there
are no leaks. Check the wear of the pads.
Top up brake fluid level, if necessary.
Rear drum brake Check for operation, idle stroke and control lever
conditions.
Adjust the clearance if it is not correct.
Throttle Check for smooth operation; throttle should snap fully
open and closed at all positions of the steering. If
necessary, adjust and/or lubricate it.
Mixer oil Check and/or top up, if necessary.

Wheels / tyres Check tyre surface, inflation pressure. Check for wear or
damage.
Remove any foreign matter that may be stuck in the tread
grooves.
Brake levers Make sure that they work smoothly.
If necessary, lubricate the joints.
Steering Steering should rotate smoothly and evenly. There should
be no play or looseness.
Stand Make sure that they work smoothly and that the spring
tension brings them back to their normal position.
Lubricate joints and connections, if necessary.
Fastening elements Make sure that the fastening elements are not loose.
Adjust or tighten as required.
Fuel tank Check fuel level and top up, if necessary.
Make sure there are no leaks or obstacles in the circuit.
