The rear suspension consists of a double-
effect shock absorber (braking with com-
pressed/extended shock absorber) fixed to
the engine by means of a silent-block.
The shock absorber is provided with a ring
nut for the adjustment of the spring
preload.
The standard adjustment, set by the manu-
facturer, is suitable for a driver weighing
about 70 kg.
If your weight and needs are different, ad-
just the ring nut (1) with the appropriate
spanner provided in the tool kit, thus set-
ting the ideal travelling conditions (see ta-
ble).
N
Slightly unscrew the locking ring nut (2)
by means of the appropriate spanner.
CAUTION
The adjusting metal ring must not be
screwed for more than 14 mm. If this
limit is exceeded, even the slightest un-
evenness of the ground will make the
vehicle jerk while running.
N
Act on the adjusting ring nut (3) (shock
absorber spring preload adjustment)
(see figure).
N
Once the optimal attitude has been ob-
tained, tighten the locking ring nut (2)
completely.
