SECTION 2
Installation

Mounting the Sensor

Do not expose your eyes to the laser radiation either directly or indirectly (i.e., after
reflection from a mirror or shiny surface).
The laser radiation has a high power density and exposure may result in loss of sight.
Only controllers designed specifically for the Controller can be used.
Using another type of controller may result in damage to the sensor or controller.
Mounting Direction
Mounting Near Walls
If the sensor receives light reflected from a wall surface, it cannot perform the measurement
accurately. The sensor should be mounted in the way shown below if it is not possible to mount it
away from the wall, i.e., such that the plane containing the emission axis and the reception axis
is parallel to the wall surface, preventing interference from light reflected from the wall surface.
Also, applying matt black coating to the wall surface will help to reduce the amount of light
reflected.
Narrow Grooves or Indentations
If the workpiece to be measured is surrounded by indented internal walls or located in a narrow
groove area, mount the sensor in such a way that the emission axis and the reception axis are
not blocked by the internal walls.
